WINTHROP, Mass. - Freshman Nikky Ansley (Berlin, Germany) continued her dominant start to her NU career over the weekend, earning Great Northeast Athletic Conference plaudits along the way.
For the first time in her career, Ansley was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Ansley continued her red-hot start to the season with a win in the women's 200 yard freestyle in 2:03.28. Ansley went on to win the women's 50 yard freestyle in 25.24 and the women's 100 yard freestyle in 55.51 as the NU women fell to SUNY Potsdam 145-140. Nikky has not finished outside of first place in any individual race this season.
Ansley was previously named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Co-Swimmer of the week for the week of October 23rd.
Ansley is joined by teammate Sam Carlson (Dedham, Maine), who was named the the GNAC Athlete of the Week on the men's side.
The Cadets are back in the pool on Saturday, November 9th for a home meet against Babson College and Regis (Mass.) at 1:00 p.m.
